CUT Selection test is relevant for prospective students who were identified to write the selection test for and planning to commence studies in January of 2022. Only those asked to take the selection test are expected to.
Central University of Technology (CUT) selection tests or rather proficiency tests are organized to access the knowledge and skills of the students. It takes about three and a half hours to complete the test.
What to bring to the testing center:
- Proof: CUT letter permitting you to write a selection OR the online status message
- Copy of Matric certificate /Grade 12 Results
- Copy of FET qualifications if applicable
- Copy of ID document
- You will be provided with a pencil and eraser.
- Cell phones and calculators are not permitted.

Bloemfontein Campus
- Due to Covid-19 regulations only a maximum of 50 students will be accommodated per testing session. Prospective students will receive a confirmation email that they can write on the chosen date or moved to an alternative date.
- To register choose a date from the schedule below and register on e-form below, or e-mail Ms Philile Phungula on pphungula@cut.ac.za. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you to attend or choose an alternative date.
- Due to logistical issues-Online Testing options are NOT available.
- Private Testing-For Students in Johannesburg and Limpopo please indicate if you would like to write in Johannesburg so we could organize the venue and Psychologist. Please note you will be liable for the payment of the Psychologist or Psychometrist conducting the test.

- The selection tests will commence at 09h00.
- Students must be at the venue by 08h30 to complete forms.
- Students who are late will have to write on an alternative date.
- To ensure adherence to Covid-19 protocols on venue capacity, students must please confirm their booking with Ms Mpuru on mmpuru@cut.ac.za or on 057 910 3619.

How to check CUT Selection Test Results
After taking the test, Wellness Centre will process results within a week of writing and send them to faculties for the final decision.
