The requirements for undertaking the University of Cape Town (UCT) Advanced Certificate in Education: School Management.
Advanced Certificate in Teaching
This qualification is suitable for in-service teachers who hold at least a three year teachers’ qualification or PGCE. It is offered in response to demand by the Western Cape and/or national departments of education. The programmes are offered part-time by contact tuition, not by distance education. We offer the following:
- Advanced Certificate in Senior Phase Teaching Specialising in Mathematics
- Advanced Certificate in Senior Phase Teaching Specialising in Science
- Advanced Certificate in Intermediate Phase Teaching specialising in English First Additional Language and Mathematics
- Advanced Certificate in Foundation Phase Teaching
These qualifications are also open to private students who meet the entrance requirements when the qualification is open for registration.
Bursary applicants must normally be selected by the WCED in order to register for one of these programmes.
