|UNISA Grade 5||UNISA Grade 3||Not applicable|
Candidates should prepare a performance of three contrasting pieces from different style periods on their principal instrument. The level of this repertoire is as follows:

Candidates intending to offer Singing as a second instrument, even if they have had no tuition, should likewise prepare two contrasting vocal pieces for their audition.
Candidates should inform the Odeion School of Music if they are presenting pieces in a second instrument, so that the applicable lecturer(s) can be present at their auditions.
Candidates should also prepare to be evaluated on instrument-specific technical materials such as scales or a study, and should bring a list of prepared scales or studies with them to the audition for that purpose.

Aural and sight-reading tests at the appropriate level will be conducted during the audition.
