Programme information

Publishing involves selecting, packaging and distributing content based on the needs of the user, in both print and electronic formats. This degree is uniquely focused on this industry, and is designed to train students to produce, publish and package texts for different audiences. Students are equipped with background knowledge on the local and international publishing industry, role players and trends, and both print and digital formats, as well as relevant workplace skills. These skills include: the commissioning of manuscripts for specific markets; copy-editing and proofreading; design and production; and marketing and distribution. We use books and other publications in our education, our work and for leisure, and our graduates have the opportunity to work in a wide range of industries to fulfil these needs.
