UL Bachelor Of Nursing Requirements

The requirements for undertaking the University of Limpopo (UL) Bachelor Of Nursing.

Nursing is a profession focused on the care of individuals, families and communities so that they can attain and maintain optimal health and quality of life. It encompasses independent and collaborative care of individuals in all stages of development. Nursing includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, the care of the ill, disabled, and dying people. Advocacy, promotion of safe environment, research, participation in shaping health policy, in patient and health system management are also key nursing roles. Nurses empower patients guiding them towards healthy behaviours and supporting them in times of health need. Nurses encourage patients to take care of themselves when they are able to do so. To qualify for admission, applicants must have obtained a matric bachelor certificate with minimum of 26 APS score. The selected candidate will be required to register with the South African Nursing Council that will enable him/her to practice as a student nurse in the accredited hospitals and clinics. Students will be required to register for a community service program after completion of training to serve as a community service nurse (training) for a period of 12 months before they can be admitted as a professional Nurse.
