University of the Western Cape, UWC Application form for Admission for 2024 has been officially closed, unfortunately, no late application can be considered. Applicants aspiring to be at University of the Western Cape should prepare in advance for UWC application 2024 which will soon open.
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) Application for admission to undergraduate study programmes for both South African and international citizens close on specific dates in the year preceding the year of study. The closing date for UWC Applications for 2024 all selection programmes is towards the end of June.
When will UWC Application open for 2024 admission?
Applications for the academic year 2024 have now closed. University of the Western Cape, UWC is expected to open for 2024 applications on 14 May 2024.
Competition for space is great and applicants are reminded to apply to more than one tertiary institution.
UWC APPLICATION 2024
University of the Western Cape Aspirants from South Africa and other countries for undergraduate and postgraduate can take note of the following information.
Unsuccessful applicants wishing to re-apply for an alternate choice or those applying after the closing dates must submit their applications via the Central Applications Clearing House (CACH). Applicants should sign up to CACH via the WhatsApp Chatbot (078 776 8660), USSD (*134*225#) or sign-up online at cach.ac.za. Applicants can also find out more on the Facebook page which is CACH_SA.
Important Things to note on University of Western Cape Application 2024
All applicants must apply ONLINE, click here to apply.
There is NO application fee to apply.
In order for your application to be considered COMPLETE, you must successfully complete the online application form as well as submit all required documentation.
You will be emailed a confirmation letter once you have completed the online application (within 24-48 hours), with further instructions on the submission of required documentation.
Applicants can check the status of their application from the application page by going to ‘Application Status’.
Applications close on 30 September 2024, all required documents must be submitted by this date as well.
Applications for Bachelor of Dentistry and Oral Health as well as School of Government postgraduate degrees close on 31 August 2024.
IMPORTANT
Applicants currently in grade 12 and applying for admission will receive a final outcome when final results are published in 2024.
All other applicants will receive an outcome by the end of November 2024. Those that are still awaiting final results for 2024 will receive final outcomes in Jan/Feb 2024.
Applicants will notified of an outcome via email or they can check the status of their application on the portal.
Please note the following programmes will NOT be offered in 2024 for first time entering students:
Bachelor of Science in Complementary Health Sciences (General Stream)
Bachelor of Science in Complementary Health Sciences (Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Stream)
CHECK YOUR APPLICATION STATUS
The competition for space has been great for 2024 and the University will be making offers in stages starting from 21 January 2024 (@12h00). Should an offer be made to you, you will receive a communication via email and your status on portal will change. The selections will be dependent on how many applicants accept their offer and register and as such offers will go out as required.

How to apply for UWC Undergraduate Admission
Applicants who are currently in Grade 12, improving their results for Grade 12 written in previous years (post-matrics), transferring applicants and any applicant that has not completed a first degree must apply as an UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANT.

CHOOSE A PROGRAMME – Browse our academic programmes (click here) to see what programmes we offer, or visit our faculty pages on our website – type in what you would like to study and download the programme information.
STEP 2
CHECK ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – Entry requirements are the minimum academic standards that the University requires in order to consider you for entry into one of our degree programmes. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee you a place to study. Competition for most of our degrees is high and demand for places generally exceeds the number of places available. Final selection is made subject to the availability of places, academic results and other entry requirements where applicable.

When applying, the application system will also indicate if you meet the minimum requirements for a programme or not based on the results you have entered. If you do not meet the minimum requirements for a programme and are still awaiting final results you may continue to select the programme. A decision will only be made on your final results. Please note that meeting the minimum is also not a guarantee of selection or entry into a programme.
